Let’s blow the whistle on blood cancers. |
Hustle for a cure raises funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada to support patient programs and research to find cures for blood cancers. We encourage skaters, teams, coaches, families, neighbours and friends in communities across the country to come together to make a difference.
Team members can raise funds together or individually.
No. Along with players, hockey fans, parents, family, neighbours and friends can participate as part of your team, or individually. hustle for a cure is all about bringing people together, to team up for the cause.
That’s up to you! For instance, ask for pledges from family, neighbours and friends based on how many times a player passes the puck during a practice, game or tournament, or have the sponsor pledge a flat dollar amount. Teams can also hold special events to raise funds.
That’s up to you! It is recommended that you fundraise for one to three weeks but, you can run it longer. You can also hold a one-day event. The program is flexible.
If you are participating as part of a team, give your sealed skater envelope with the money you collected inside, to your team coach. The team coach will put all of the skater envelopes into a big team envelope, listing all of the skaters and the amount they each raised on the front. The team envelopes can be brought into your local office.
You can register right now! The sooner you get started the better.
Money raised from hustle for a cure is used for research to improve treatments and find cures for blood cancers, patient support programs and education programs. You can find more information about our programs and services at: www.LLS.org/Canada.
